2008 APA B-Grade Senior 8-Ball

What a great start to the year !!
The APA Senior B-Grade 8-Ball saw a very high standard of play from some of our older members, and also some from our newer members playing in their first APA tournament.
Section play sure produced some surprises with Kane Tristram winning his section and ending up third qualifier. Section 3 produced a 4 x winner, 3 x winner and 3 x first winners. Newcomer Yang Han was the unlucky one and didn’t qualify on a count-back.
Both Semi-Final matches went the distance with Dan Burns and Sean Stevenson, coming through 5/4.
In the Final Sean got away to a 5/2 lead, but Dan fought back to 5/4. In the tenth frame Dan lifted on a realtively easy long pot and missed. Sean then potted a good awkward shot and the white caught the centre jaw and he ended up being snookered on the black. He then produced what was probably the shot of the tournament. Using a jump cue and having to jump over a ball three feet away, potted the black in the nominated pocketed, winning 6/5.
