This was the last Snooker tournament to be held in Auckland this year. A very strong field of 40 players, including 11-year-old Leonard Toh. The last time we had a player this young playing in a ranking tournament was probably when Dene O’Kane played in the Auckland A-Grade in the late 1970′s.

The semi-finals of the 2008 APA League saw the ACBS Team, captained by Cliff Keach, play off against North Shore’s Mack Attack Team, captained by Lee Stevenson; and Jimmy Henry’s Brother’s Team square off against David Breen’s New Lynn Pool Shooters.

Don’t forget the presentation evening and mini-tournament will be held at the ACBS Clubroom, Monday 17 November. There will be a bar tab and nibbles. Mini-tournament $5 entry fee = more cash prizes.
Dene O’Kane retained his World Masters Snooker title yesterday in Austria, beaing India’s Gee Seetee 5/1.

Good to see some of our now grown-up past Junior members back, taking up tournament play again. Larry Fatialofa, John Harrison and Timothy Putu all played well and qualified for Post Section play. John drew veteran Jimmy Henry and lost 9/2, Timothy beat second seed Sam Chin 9/6, and Larry lost to Kevin Sun 9/4.
