Dene O’Kane misses World Record of holding the World Snooker Masters Title four times

O’Kane lost the final match of the World Snooker Masters Championship against Welshman Darren Morgan, by a whopping 6/0 in Hyderbad, India.  Had O’Kane won this match he would have been the first in history to hold the title four times.

NZPA 2009 National 9-Ball Championships

November 4th, 2009

Held at the ACBS Clubrooms (hosted by the APA) : 30 October to 01 November 2009

The tournament was run under a new dress code trial and the reaction received was overwhelmingly in favour of it.  Malcolm Beehre said, “I personally did not receive one adverse comment and some players were adamant that it should be applied to all of our tournaments.”

ABSA Junior (U21) Snooker

November 3rd, 2009

Held at the ACBS Clubroom : 26 October 2009

This event was contested by seven young enthusiastic players who always appeared to be in a hurry to play the next shot, and with little fear of the consequences.

ABSA Open B-Grade Snooker

November 3rd, 2009

Held at the ACBS Clubrooms : 25 October 2009

Section play was a one-frame round robin, and one-frame snooker always produces some surprises.  Because scores were not kept and qualifying was based on wins, there were two secitons that required play-offs to see who qualified and they were both different situations.

ABSA Women’s Open Snooker

November 3rd, 2009

Held at the ACBS Clubrooms : 24 October 2009

With a field of eight, two sections of four played a one-frame round robin to determine the eight placings based on performance for Post-Section play.
