A small field of four this year.
In Kerry Bell and Siloti Maher’s match the first frame was won by Siloti who had a nice 16 and the 20 break. The second frame was looking like it was going Siloti’s way until out of the blue Kerry produced a 25 clearance to equal at 1-all. In the third frame, with two reds potted, Siloti had given away 12 points in fouls and Kerry 11 points. This wa only the start of the foul shots and after around 50 points in fouls between them, Kerry eventually won 2/1.
The other match between Nita Clarkson and Nancy Strang (Nancy playing in only her second tournament) went to the wire in both frames. Nita won 2-nil but had to come from behind in both frames to win on the black. Nita won the section without dropping a frame, but was beaten by Kerry 2/0 in the Final.
