Report by Malcolm Beehre : Certainly a lot to think about in 10-Ball which is made up of 8 and 9-Ball rules and at times was confusing some players. A few surprises in the qualifiers; one of them being Matt Edwards who qualified 14th with only 2 wins, and Lingxiao Zhu in the same section, thinking he had already qualified before his last match, and didn’t commit himself to it, losing 6/7. Report by Malcolm Beehre : No real surprises in Section Play qualifiers. There’s a giant killer in every tournament and this time it was a new comer to APA events who qualified Number 1 in his section, beating Marvin Padrigo 6/5, Jon Grimley 6/3, Coy Cao 6/1 and Alistair Arlidge 6/3. Unfortunately he came up against 13th qualifier Maher hatab and went down 6/4. It was a great effort by Hatab who has struggled to find form this year and I’m sure we are going to see a lot more of Qi Heiwen. Continue reading »
Unfortunately our Auckland calendar of events have the wrong closing dates for ALL NZ BILLIARDS & SNOOKER CHAMP ENTRIES – these officially closed on 28 May. Because of the error, we are keeping the entries OPEN NOW UNTIL 06 JUNE. There are only limited spaces left in all events.
Anyone wishing to enter, please do so as soon as possible before 7 pm on Wednesday 06 June 2012.
There are also limited entries left for the 147 One-Day Tournament (9 June 2012).
There are also limited entries left for the One-Day 9-Ball (10 June 2012).
City of Auckland Open Snooker entries close on 05 June.

The ABSA and APA Committees have both agreed to have included in the tournament conditions for all events, the banning of the use of cell-phones for receiving, calling or texting during the playing of a match.
ABSA PENALTIES :
Snooker (loss of frame)
Billiards (loss of 75 points)
APA PENALITES :
All pool events (loss of frame being played).
SO REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR CELL PHONES OFF WHILE PLAYING
