Report by Malcolm Beehre : Both days started the same way, with a lot of 6/0 wins to the number 1 and 2 seeds in each Section.

Any prize money over $500 is taxed at 20% RWT (Resident Withholding Tax).  If you win the NZPA National 8-Ball, the NZBSA National Billiards, or the NZBSA National Snooker events you will need to provide your IRD number.  Failure to do so will mean payment of prize money will be withheld until your IRD number is produced.

Report by Malcolm Beehre : This tournament was a trial at using a random draw and only first match losers going through to the other side of the draw, with the winner from that side playing the winner from the last two-lifer in the Final.

Due to the close proximity of the NZPA National 8-Ball Championships, the entry fee for the one day tournaments has been reduced to $20 per event.  The prize pool (based on 16 entries) will be $290 to be distributed as follows : Winner $140, Runner-up $70, Third Place $50, Fourth Place $30.
All other conditions remain the same.  Entries close 9 am TOMORROW – FRIDAY 21 MAY 2010.

Women’s Event:  Molrudee Vujanic top-qualified with three wins and a +11 aggregte, and played Aimee Black in one of the Semi-finals.  Black put up a good fight and could have won the match but for a couple of unlikely fouls.  The final score of this match was 6/3 to Vujanic.  The other Semi between Denise Wilkinson and Lorna Frost was a one-sided match with Wilkinson winning 6/0.
