Captains please remember to check your Captain’s Folders for the format for each round as it differs according to which game you are playing.  The results between Creme de la Femme and Sharpshooters have had a frame added to each match because they followed the format of the 8-ball round.  Mandie will be checking all team lists and latest memberships to ensure that you have all paid your fees for this year and will be sending out updated lists to your shortly.

Next week Mandie will send out updated team lists so you can ensure all your team players are members!  Most have renewed but there are still a few left to come in.  Also take note of how many players you have listed in your team as you are allowed a maximum of 10 per team including reserves and some of you are close to that maximum.

PENALTIES: The rules and conditions are found in your Captain Folders.  As Team Captain it is your responsibility to make sure you are familiar with all the rules and conditions and the penalties that will be applied in the situation of the breach of rules.

• Failure to have results/fees to the APA Office NO LATER than the Monday followng night of play.
  Penalty : Default loss to the home team and fees deducted from home team winnings.
• Failure to ensure all team players are members.
  Penalty : Default loss to the non-member – team total points/winnings adjusted accordingly.
• Failure to have team players in collared shirts (polo shirts are acceptable).
  Penalty : Default loss to the player not wearing a collared shirt – team total points/winnings adjusted accordingly.
• Exceeding the 10 team member maximum.
  Penalty : Default loss to the 11th player – team total points/winnings adjusted accordingly.

MEMBERSHIPS:

(07 June 2011) : With the results being posted out is a list of your team membeers as I have them recorded, next to their name is a year (2010,2011, etc).  Only those with 2012 next to their name on that list are eligible to play in the League after the 30th June.  Please ensure all your tem members renew their membership on or before the 30th June to avoid penalties being applied.

Monday 04 April : 11 players took part.  Quarter-finals : Molrudee bt Cao, Marvin bt Zhu and Matt and Darryl had byes.  In the Semi-finals Matt bt Molrudee and Darryl defeated Marvin.  The Final was taken out by Matt over Darryl.

Next Monday (11 April) will be the last night of competition for this 9-Ball Monday night comp as players are away for the Trans-Tasman Test, follwed by Easter and the Pool League will start in May.

Monday 28 March : 15 players.  In the Quarter-finals David bt Will, Zhu bt Cliff, Tim bt Matt and Jem bt Marvin.  Semi-finals: David bt Zhu and Matt bt Jem.  The Final between David and Matt saw Matt the victor.

Monday 21 March : 16 players played 9-Ball.  Quarter-finals : Tim bt Faz, Leighton bt Zhu, Marvin bt Joe, Cao bt Maher.  In the Semi-finals Leighton bt Tim, Marvin bt Cao.  Marvin came back from 2/1 down to take the final 3/2 over Leighton.

Monday 14 March : Another big turnout of 21 players.  Quarter-finals : Matt bt Tim, Faz bt Ning, Chris bt Mulrudee and Marvin bt Richard.  In the Semi-finals, Matt bt Faz, and Marvin bt Chris.  The Final was taken out by Matt.

Monday 28 February : A good turnout for the 9-Ball comp.  Fifteen players in three sections.  In the Quarter-finals Lincoln bt Molrudee, Maher bt Jono, matt bt David, Amith bt Cao.  Maher beat Lincoln in one Semi-final, and Amith in an upset, beat Matt.  Amith took out the final, beating Maher.

Monday 21 February : A good turnout of 13 players saw two sections of 9-Ball.  In the Quarter-finals, Jono bt Matt, Will bt Mulrudee, Maher bt David and Amith bt Joe.  In the Semi-finals, Will bt Jono and Amith bt Maher.  The Final was taken out by Will.

Monday 14 February : I think the heat and Valentines took it’s toll on numbers, but eight players took part in 10-ball.  In the Semi-finals, Ning bt Zhu and Joe bt Cao.  Joe, who struggled in early games found his form and won the Final convincingly 3/0.

Monday 07 February : A smaller turnout of ten players saw two sections of five, with 10-ball being played again to familiarise players with the game.  Qualifiers were Marvin, Lincoln, Amith, Richard, Zhu and Ning.  In the Semi-finals, Marvin bt Lincoln and Ning bt Zhu.  In the Final, Marvin bt Ning.

Monday 31 January 2011 : with Monday being a public holiday a smaller turnout of 12 players attended.  We took the opportunity to play 10-ball to familiarise players with the rules.  In the Quarter-finals, Joe bt Maher, Charles bt Richard, Marvin bt Max, Cao bt David.  In the Semi-finals, Joe bt Charles and Marvin bt Cao.  Joe took out the Final over Marvin.

Monday 24 January 2011 : a very strong field of 20 players turned up for the second 9-ball for 2011.  In the Quarter-finals, Marvin bt Ning, Will bt Jamie, Richard bt Faz and Joe bt Tim.  In the Semi-finals, Marvin bt Will (Marvin said it was the first win against Will), and Richard bt Joe.  In the Final, Marvin came out the winner over Richard.

Monday 17 January 2011 : the first competition for 2011 saw ten players taking part.  In the quarter-finals, Joe bt Max, Will bt Marvin, David bt Steven and Nin bt Dou.  Will beat Joe in one semi-final, and David beat Ning in the other.  The final was won by Will over David 3/1.

Monday 13 December : thirteen players took part in the final Monday comp for 2010.  Qualifiers were Marvin, Max, David, ,Joe, Peter, Maher, Ning and Cliff.  Matt bt Marvin, Joe bt David, Maher bt Peter and Cliff bt Ning.  In the Semi-finals Matt bt Joe, and Maher bt Cliff.  Matt came out the final over Maher.

Monday 06 December : fourteen players in two sections of seven took part.  Qualifiers were Marvin, Richard, Joe, Jamie, Matt, Molrudee, Ning and Peter.  Richard bt Marvin, Joe bt Jamie, Matt bt Ning.  Semi-finals : Richard bt Marvin and Matt bt Ning.  The final was won by Matt.

Monday 29 November : another  big turnout of 17 players who took part in section play format of three sections (race to 2 frames).  Post-section (race to 3 frames) qualifiers were Joe bt Fale, Peter bt Ning, Marvin bt Jamie, Richard bt Cao.  The Semi-finals : Joe bt Peter and Richard bt Marvin, who took out the final.

Monday 15 November : fourteen players took part in this competition.  Format was two sections of seven, with four qualifiers from each Section.  Quarter-finalists : Section 1 : Marvin, Eddie, Molrudee and Richard and from Section 2 : Matt, Jamie, Joe and Luther.  Marvin beat Luther, Molrudee beat Jamie, Joe beat Eddie and Richard beat matt.  In the Semi-finals Marvin beat Molrudee and Joe beat Richard.  Marvin was the winner.

Monday 01 November saw the 9-ball competition kick off again.  Nine players took part in section play with Molrudee and Lito being top qualifiers (bye into the semi).  The post semi qualifiers were Richard and Eddie.  Molrudee was a convincing winner in the first semi against Eddie and Richard defeated Lito.  The final saw Richard Alfonso defeat Molrudee 3/0.

9-Ball Comp : 08 February 2010 : a strong field of ten players made two sections of five.  Nick Pera and Marvin qualified in Section 1 with Nick unbeaten.  Section 2 saw Molrudee and Matt qualify, with Matt unbeaten.  In the semi’s, Nick played Molrudee with Molrudee an upset victor, and Marvin defeated Matt 3/0 in the other semi.  Marvin continued on with some fine form.

9-Ball Comp : 01 February 2010 : a strong field of twelve players arrived for Monday’s 9-Ball.  We ran two sections with two qualifiers from each, with Glen Coutts, Matt Edwards and Molrudee in one section it was always going to be tough to qualify.  Glen and Matt qualified from Section 1 and Jamie and Ning from Setion 2.  Matt beat Ning 3/1 and Glen won over Jamie 3/2.  The Final (race to 3) was a quick affair with Glen playing his best pool of the night, and winning 3/0.

The 2010 9-ball comp commenced on Monday 18 January.  A field of ten played section play with two qualifiers from each section.  Molrudee and Marvin successful from Section 1 and Glen Coutts and Cliff from Section 2.  In the Semi-finals, Molrudee beat Cliff 3/1 and in a close match Marvin beat Glen 3/2.  In the Final Molrudee again proved too strong, defeating Marvin 3/0.

Week 5 : for the final Monday competition for this year we played section play again.  The first semi-final was between Marvin and Richard with Richard winnin gout 3/1 and the other semi-final, Molrudee defeating Frank.  Molrudee again played great pool to defeat Richard 3/1 to take out the Final.  Molrudee retained her form from the recent APA Regional 8-Ball Pairs event, when partnered with her husband, defeated Kevin Sun and Kevin Zhang to reach the final, just going down to Jordan Davey and Jimmy Henry, 5/4.  The next Monday competition will be 18 January 2010.

Week 4 : the numbers were a bit lower this Monday with 9 players, so we decided to use a section/round robin format with a race to three frames.  Section 1 saw Kevin Zhang and Kevin Sun qualify and Section 2 qualifiers were Marvin and Molrudee.  Molrudee defeated Kevin Sun, and Kevin Zhang won over Marvin.  The Final (race to 5 frames) was won by Kevin Zhang with Molrudee again proving she is a formidable opponent.

Week 3 : a field of 12 took part.  The winner from the last two weeks (Tim) drew Kevin Sun in the first round.  In a very tight match Tim prevailed.  There was a round two upset with Cliff defeating Tim.  Marvin beat Cliff in one Semi-final and Molrudee, carrying on with her great form from the Auckland B-Grade comp, defeated Jacky in the other Semi-final.  Molrudee defeated Marvin 5/3 to take the major share of the stake money.  Please note that the last Monday of competition for this year is 14 Decemer and will recommence on 18 January 2010.

Week 2 of the Monday night 9-Ball knockout had a field of 13.  It was decided to play Race to 5 frames for the evenings competition.  It was a good cross-section of players with two women players in the draw.  Week 1′s winner, Tim, had a tough first up match against Marvin which went to the wire 5/4.  In the Semis Molrudee, one of the female players put up a good game before going down to Tim and in the other, David was down 4/1 against Jacky before taking the match 5/4.  The Final was a repeat of last Monday with Tim playing flawless 9-Ball, being the winner.

Tournament Format: Randon Draw – 2 life (finishes at end of Semi-finals – i.e. only one life in the Final).

2009 League Preliminary summary of results

All post-section matches are to be played at the ACBS Clubrooms.   Quarter-finals for the Main event and the Semi-finals for the Plate event will be held on 12 October @ ACBS.

Main event Semi-finals and both Finals will be played on 02 November @ ACBS.  The reson for the extended delay between Post-Section  matches is that the ACBS venue will be in the process of changing the Snooker and Pool rooms and, of course, Labour weekend.

09 November : Mini 9-Ball tournament and league prize presentation.

Note to teams : Penalties have been applied to teams who have not submitrted results and to those who have had non-members playing.  Captains please ensure your team members have paid the current 2009/10 membership fees (previous year expired on 20 June 2009).  Please check your League Folders for information regarding Rules and penaltys  as there have been a number of incidents which could have avoided penalties if the rules had been followed.
