This was probably the youngest field for many years with Anaru Tanehana (9), Leonard Toh (11), Tom Woodman (11), Dominic Tanehana (12) and Josh Milne (13).  There were eight in the field and a one-frame round robin was played.

The Capital City Billiards and Snooker Assn held the annual Jim Couper Open Snooker event over the weekend at the Petone Club.  A strong field contested the NZ Ranking event and the countries top seed Harry Haenga, once again came out on top.

Lots of surprises with some lower ranked players having their best ranking tournament results ever.  Paul Olsson was one of those people.  He was the only player to beat Ramona Belmont in Section Play and he ended up 9th qualifier over all.
