Hi team, GREAT website! Plenty of info and reasonably up to date… looking forward to it continuing to crank and show up the other associations!
August 11th, 2007 08:08
Thanks for your email Jon - will hopefully have the 9-Ball rankings very soon and will look into being able to get the APA League results up as well!
August 17th, 2007 15:16
Jon - thought you’d be pleased - the 9-Ball rankings have been updated today - and you will also find the ranking point allocation schedules for Oceania and NZPA. Will be hopefully getting schedules up for Billiards & Snooker soon.
Cheers!

Great stuff Anne, it’ll be good seeing how the rankings adjust from tournament to tournament throughout the year, without having to wait until the next newsletter comes out, as well as knowing what points were achieved per tournament. Am looking forward to the APA League results being updated on a week-by-week basis to keep everyone excited leading up to the playoffs!
Cool work.

Thanks heaps Jon - makes it all worth while when there is some feedback. League results should be updated tomorrow and will hopefully include current standings, and round one results. Just depends how quickly League Captains get those results back to Mandie.!! Last of the newsletters went out today by the way.
Cheers!!

Great to see some forward movement on the ACBS website, Good effort! Just curious why the round one APA 8 ball league results are not posted? Would be beneficial to compare the two.
Cheers.

Hi Heather - League updated results should be up this afternoon!
August 22nd, 2007 10:22
Hi Anne, thanks for updating the League results. Can I make a couple of suggestions? I assume that the League results will be based on points gained in round one and round two combined, so can the results page on the website be a grand total? And…. following on from that, can the results be presented in the form of a leaderboard, so that we can see instantly who’s placed where? It’ll help those of us down the ladder see what results we need to make the playoffs etc.
Aside from that incencsant ranting, you’re doing a great job giving people what they want! Well done.
Jon

Have forwarded your request on to Mandie who is doing all League Admin - we’ll see what she can come up with and will post as soon as anything is available.
p.s. do you know about my life coaching website - and that it has a public forum!?

Hi people - check out the addition to the League stats!! Hope this is what you all wanted.
Cheers

Oceania…
Firstly, well done to Mr McInnes who smashed me to smithereens yesterday! Can’t wait to hear how the finals ended up.
Well done to the organizers for the flow that the tournament went by… section play was finished by 2:30pm and ran very smoothly. Yesterday’s playoffs also ran like clockwork (once they eventually started).
However…
Why did we have to residents of Tokoroa to know:
a) what the sections were?
b) what time we had to be there?
c) that the APA wouldn’t receive any of the above info until the last available mailing day before the tournament started?
To top it off, a good number of us had the misfortune to turn up ready for play at 10am yesterday morning (as the aforementioned late draw had advised us to) only to find out that that time had also been changed the previous day to 11am!
I’m amazed that a tournament that has 50-odd people in it, including travellers from overseas, would be so haphazard in preparation.
There IS life outside Tokoroa too…
Rant finished.
August 30th, 2007 14:59
Is there life in Tokoroa???? - I have sent that many emails - all returned because inboxes are full to try to get someone to send me the results of the Oceania events. Sorry guys - I can only put up on the site information when it has been received!!!!
ARRGGGGGGGGGGGGH
Anne not happy

Ok something fresh…
So what about tips/cues etc? What does everyone use for 8-ball/9-ball and snooker/billiards? Why do you use what you do?
At the moment I’m using a LePro tip on my Predator shaft, which was altered to fit my Barton McGill butt because I’ve had it extended a couple of times. Am gonna try a Moori Soft tip on it shortly…

N.I. 9-Ball
Haha done again by Matt McInness… not so bad this time tho, only 7-5… Enjoy it while it lasts, boy
(jokes)
Congratulations again to Tokoroa for a smooth-running tourney, and thanks for the lunch you put on… most unexpected and well-received.
Gotta say it again… why did we have to live in Tokoroa to know what time it started and what the sections were? Maybe 2 weeks isn’t long enough to take the confirmed entries and devise the tournament format? I don’t know…

Hi Anne, thanks for the update on the League… it’s a bit congested at the top there.
Amazed you still haven’t received accurate results from Tokoroa… then again, maybe I shouldn’t be!
Looking forward to the rankings being updated (I assume you’re still in the middle of it from the fact that it isn’t working properly at the moment.)
Have a good day!
September 18th, 2007 10:35
Rankings will be updated as soon as I get them - and I assume you are meaning after the 9-Ball in Tokoroa. Miriam is pretty good about getting them to us asap. What’s not working?
September 18th, 2007 11:42
When you click on Cue-sport Rankings on the right, it comes up with a root directory structure, with ranking for snooker from ‘03 to ‘06. It’s not the same screen that normally comes up where you can choose from men’s 8-ball, women’s 9-ball etc…
September 18th, 2007 13:12
Btw Anne, can you please tell me what the process for claiming travel subsidies? I haven’t done it before.
Cheers
September 18th, 2007 15:00
(a) League results now updated as at 10 September.
(b) Am checking out why the cue-sport rankings page looks weird - from the back end it all looks good but I can see what you mean - although clicking on those awful looking links still works! Getting the teckie to look into it.
(c) Travel sub criteria - send in a copy of the draw or proof that you actually played the event - then wait for cheque to arrive! That’s all - and you need to be a full financial member and have played a travel subsidy qualifying event.

Beaten twice in the same day by Matt… things are getting desperate… need to re-think my strategy…
Congratulations again dude
