The venues where he competed included Invercargill, Christchurch, Palmerston North, Rotorua, Gisborne and New Plymouth. Gerry believes he may be the oldest active competitor in New Zealand Billiards (currently aged 83 years).
Biggest Thrill:
Playing Clark McConachy in an exhibition match at the end of Clark’s career, and playing Eddie Charlton at the start of his. Being President of the South Auckland Billiards Association was a great thrill when they hosted the NZ Championships in Matamata in 1971. The Billiards Championship in that event was won by Bill Harcourt (Wellington) and the Snooker event was won by Brien Bennett (New Plymouth).
